Denver PrideFest, the city’s big celebration, arrives the weekend of June 29 with a plethora of events and activities — I’m eyeing tickets for the VIP parade watch party at Hamburger Mary’s. As we get ready for the main event, here are more Pride festivities happening around Denver.

The Rockies are hosting a Pride night while the New York Mets are in town. A special ticket package will get you a pair of Pride sunglasses and a donation from the team that goes to The Center on Colfax and One Colorado.

If soccer is more your thing, the Rapids have a Pride-themed night on June 7

Black Pride | June 8-15

Black Pride Colorado has a lineup of pop-up events around the city, including its Strange Fruit of Black Excellence Gala featuring influencer and advocate RaeShanda Lias on June 13.

The folks at Petals & Pages invite bookworms to come read queer books — all proceeds will be donated to Trans Continental Pipeline.

Paws with Pride | June 21

Take your doggo to Union Station for a doggie drag show and free pet portraits. There will be local vendors and drink specials at Terminal Bar.

Our friends at the Sie FilmCenter will be screening science-fiction flicks with queer, trans, and non-binary themes throughout the month.

The Sie is also screening “Brokeback Mountain” for its 20th anniversary June 20-26, so grab your cowboy hats 🤠

HCO Pride Party | June 28

Local group Hip Chicks Out is throwing its fifth annual Pride Party at Number 38, featuring a Latine dance party and a sand volleyball tournament.

Local nonprofit Colorado History Rides, which puts on a bicycle ride series, is partnering with queer cycling club OUTSpokin’ for a Pride-themed ride June 8. They’ll also be handing out free Pride stickers to participants all month long.

Correction: An earlier version of this article had incorrect information about Colorado History Rides and OUTSpokin'. Colorado History Rides is not associated with History Colorado; OUTSpokin' is a cycling club; and their co-organized Pride month ride is on June 8.
