Last week on the podcast, you heard me talk about the brand new 5280 Pastry Co-op, a new organization of Denver-based bakers. We shared some of our favorite local bakeries on the show, then asked you all to shout out yours!

Holly M. would like to recommend Ana’s Norwegian Bakeri in Littleton: “[It’s also] getting one of the pop-ups on the 16th Street Mall. Her story is great, the baked goods are amaaaaazing, and she also creates a great community spot for Norwegian and Norwegian-Americans here, including a monthly gathering of Norwegian speakers and people who are trying/wanting to learn Norwegian!”

Margaret L. suggests Grateful Bread: “They are only open on Saturdays for retail but have a very loyal following in the Golden area. Be prepared to wait in line. They really shine with their breads and cookies.”

Thomas D.’s favorite is Knead the Bakery in Arvada: “[It’s] next to the DMV at 6510 Wadsworth Blvd. Stephanie and Alex are multi-year winners of the Taste of Arvada. DO NOT CONFUSE THEM WITH KNEADERS!”

Rick G. considers himself a pasty savant of sorts and had lots to recommend across Metro Denver including:

  • Jeannot’s in Lafayette for French-style pastries and great croissants
  • Shamane’s Bake Shop in Boulder for “the most beautiful and delicious custom cakes I’ve ever had.”
  • Longmont’s Bavarian Bakery for German pastries — namely the chocolate dipped almond horns
  • Enchanted Oven, a Japanese-Hawaiian bakery in Broomfield, for “jiggly cheesecake, mochi donuts, and curry beef buns.”
  • Shahrazad Bakery in Aurora for reasonably priced, fresh flatbreads and pita.

Katie C. also had a hard time picking a fave, so she recommended:
