Just as summer temps are beginning to soar, Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced last week that the swim beaches at Cherry Creek Reservoir and Chatfield Reservoir will be closed to the public indefinitely due to “naturally occurring” elevated levels of E.coli. (womp, womp 👎) Need somewhere else to splash? These are some of our favorite swimming holes near the city.

🛟 Brighton Oasis (Brighton)

Open daily: 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Daily non-resident fees: $6-$8.50 (season / punch passes available)

Amenities at this B-Town favorite include two water slides, a lazy river, a wave generator, a tot pool, water basketball, and a fully loaded concession stand.

Open daily: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Daily non-resident fees: $9.50-$11.50 (season / punch passes available)

The Splash park boasts a 25-meter, 8-lane lap pool, a diving board, two slides, and the largest sandbox in Jefferson County. Bring your own snacks and drinks, or grab something from Tipper’s Grill onsite.

🏴‍☠️ Pirates Cove (Englewood)

Open daily: 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Weekday non-member fees: $16-$17 (season / family passes available)

Soak up the sun in the lazy river, get drenched under the 750-gallon dump bucket, jump off the diving board in the competitive pool, or cool off in the spray garden. Staying all day? Rent one of the pool’s private 8-person cabanas.

🥽 The Bay (Broomfield)

Open daily: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Daily non-resident fees: $7-$9 (season / punch passes available)

From racing slides to the tot pool, there’s something for the whole fam at Broomfield’s The Bay. Want the place to yourself? Reach out to ask about private, after-hours pool parties!
