Your Guide to February in Denver

00:00:00

February is the month of love, and while there are plenty of things to do for Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart (or solo!), there is also tons to do that isn’t all cheese and romance — and we’ve rounded up the best of it.

Go Out for Galentine’s Day

Deviation Distilling at Dairy Block is hosting a cocktail class and truffle pairing for Valentine’s Day this week. But really, the charcuterie boards and themed cocktails here make for the perfect happy hour date with your gal pals any time of the year.

Take a Self-Guided Pozole Tour

Our favorite way to shake off the February chill? A steaming bowl of delicious pozole. There’s no shortage of local spots worth adding to you pozole bucket list, but our go-to is La Diabla Pozole y Mezcal, and not just because of its Michelin, James Beard, and Bon Appétit fame, but that 2-for-1 pozole deal on Thursdays is where 👏 it’s 👏 at 👏

Try Jewelry Making

You don’t need to wait for a special someone and a Hallmark holiday to get a pretty piece of jewelry. Take it from City Cast Denver podcast producer Olivia Jewell Love, who recommends Fleur’s jewelry making classes to treat yourself to a little something special.

Enjoy a Sweet Treat

Have a hankering for The Market’s famous Spring Fling cake? Check out Lala’s Bakery, a decadent desserts company run by former bakers from the now-defunct mercantile. The Lala’s team is located in the new La Victoria Healing Kitchen, an incubator space and commercial kitchen also offering cooking classes now open in Aurora.

Splurge on a Solo Movie Date

The 2024 Oscar noms are out, so it’s as good a time as ever to binge all those new movies you haven’t gotten around to watching. Newsletter editor Adrian González’s pro-hack? Make it a solo date so you can sit wherever you want and have the candy budget all to yourself.

Psst! There’s more where this came from 👇
