It’s November! Time to rake those leaves and dump those mushy pumpkins before the snow sets in. But don’t just throw them away — turn them into compost with the help of Denver’s LeafDrop program. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Gather your leaves and pumpkins and other yard debris in a compostable paper bag. (Denver residents can get a five-pack for free at participating Ace Hardware stores.)
  • Locate a city-sanctioned LeafDrop location. (Check out this interactive map to find one near you.)
  • The Denver LeafDrop program runs daily 10 a.m.-2 p.m. from Oct. 10-Dec. 2.
  • Denver compost customers can also put their leaves and pumpkins in their green compost carts. (In case you missed it, here are Denver’s new trash and composting rules🍂)
  • A1 Organics will turn collected debris into compost that will be made available to Denver residents at a discounted price at the city’s annual compost giveaway in May.
