In last weekâs neighborhood guide, I wrote up a simple snapshot of Lakewood. But thereâs SO much more to Denverâs western neighbor, so I asked you all to send me your favorite Lakewood locales:
Dan K. recommends:
- đș Tom's Brew Shop: âFor all the homebrewers out there, they've got an impressive inventory, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and even carry all-in-one kombucha kits!â
Alan B. says:
- đł Crown Hill Open Space: âItâs my go-to spot for a quiet walk any time of year, filled with seasonal birds, families fishing and walking around the large lake, and visiting the wildlife preserve.â
- đŻ Señor Burritos: âMakes the best chile relleno burrito around, and their green chile is worth exploring.â
Ben C. added:
- đ„Ș Carmine Lonardo's: âAn Italian deli institution, been here since 1976. The folks who work there are incredibly sweet and they do all sorts of specials for holidays as well. It's truly a hidden gem!â
- đ„ Panaderia Rodriguez: âA delicious bakery that also somewhat secretly has what I consider to be the best menudo in town.â
- đ©đ° Taste of Denmark: âA well-known spot for amazing European pastries â bringing a mixed dozen in is the fastest way to ingratiate yourself with coworkers in Lakewood.â
- â Sweet Bloom Coffee: âAward-winning coffee that is slowly growing in popularity and can be seen in more and more cafes around the city. I cannot recommend it enough.â
Jorian S. suggests:
- đș WestFax Brewing Co.: âKiller lagers and IPAs of all kinds. (The Yabby Hut and Pop CULTure Empire are also in the same strip mall, and both are great.)â
- đ Other favorites: The Colorado Cookie Company, Ballmer Peak Distillery, Green Mountain Beer Co., and Granny Scott's Pie Shop.
