With Opening Weekend upon us, obviously I had to highlight Denver’s Ballpark District. Not interested in baseball? All good, you can still enjoy the energy in the area this weekend without doing anything Rockies-related. Here’s how:
Eat and Drink
For those of you looking for Opening Day food and beverage specials, I’ve got you covered in the section below. For everyone else, the Ballpark District is chock-full of some of the city’s most iconic can’t-miss eats, including gourmet dogs at Biker Jim’s, Denver-famous burgers at Cherry Cricket, and the city’s best posole at the award-studded La Diabla. Need a cup of Joe? Huckleberry Roasters is a fan-favorite. Lowkey bar vibes? Try Star Bar.
Stretch Your Legs
Step away from the frenetic festivities and soak up some Mile High sun on Commons Park’s winding walkways, shady trees, and paved bike paths. At the north end, you’ve got the Denver Skate Park, and at the South end, Confluence Park, a summertime fave for local sun-baskers.

See a Show
For something decidedly not sports, visit longtime Denver landmark, Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox. Self-described as a “gastro-brothel,” this multi-level restaurant / bar / event venue is known for its live music, killer dance parties, themed brunches, and sultry history. You can also catch some laughs at RISE Comedy, noted for its lineup of hilarious local improv, stand-up, and sketch comics.
