It’s 420 this weekend! Civic Center Park will play host to Denver’s annual Mile High 420 Festival — purportedly the largest celebration of marijuana in the world. A pot party that big is certain to bring a mega case of the munchies, so I’ve rounded up the local bites that will satiate even the oddest cannabis-induced cravings.
Get the tour-de-munchies at this food hall. I’d start with the Hot Dogs and Queso at Comida, pair that with some crispy MacHashbrowns from Denver Biscuit Co., and finish it all off with the Funnel Cake Fries and funfetti dip at Stanley Beer Hall.
For something greasy, deep-fried, and reliably delicious, head to Mexico City (a local standby even when it’s not 420) for their Famous Fried Tacos and the Mexican Hamburger (a beef patty with beans wrapped in a tortilla, topped with green chili, tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese).
Following an extended pandemic hiatus, this popular joint is reopening its doors just in time to bring us its iconic over-the-top burgers and boozy milkshakes.
Steuben’s everyday menu was made for the munchies, with its Gravy Cheese Fries, Froot Loops Milkshake, and famous Steubie Snacks (deep-fried pork shoulder bites dredged in powdered sugar). But this weekend it will also tout some exclusive 420 specials, including Pizza Grilled Cheese and Meatloaf Mac n’ Cheese.

- The Hot Cheez-It Croissant from Black Box Bakery
- Any 4-inch Nug sub from Cheba Hut for only $4.20
- Loaded Ramen for $14.20 at Osaka Ramen
